Cornwall Tire Service is a family-owned business serving Cornwall and the SD&G area for over 50 years. We are currently looking to add a Commercial Tire Technician to our hard-working team. The qualified individual would have the skills to safely complete daily task such as tire installs, repairs, rotations and more on various vehicles such was commercial trucks, backhoes, tractors, forklift etc. This role includes working at the shop and on the road with your own fully stocked truck loaded with all tools needed to complete every job. This position is a full time Monday-Friday 8-5, plus on call nights and weekends in a schedule rotation with other technicians. Competitive wages and benefits are available. We are looking for a competent and friendly service advisor to join our automotive shop. In this role, you will act as the point of contact for our automotive customers, initially greeting them, explaining our services, and collecting payment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a compassionate and patient attitude, and have the skill to maneuver the internet and automotive computer software.

Service Advisor Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers upon arrival to shop
• Determine reason for customer visit through verbal interview and visual assessment of vehicle
• Consult with mechanics regarding appropriate service options
• Explain all service options to customers including time and cost estimates
• Advise customers on warranty protections and other potential cost-saving service options
• Track maintenance or repair status, fill out reports on labor and cost of all services
• Perform post-service inspection with customers and answer any questions they may have
• Perform customer service duties, i.e. answering the phone, scheduling service appointments, and calling customers to inform them their vehicles are ready for pick up
• Manage shop workflow and schedule for mechanics and technicians

Service Advisor Requirements and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 5+ years in the automotive industry preferred
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to explain complicated automotive concepts to visitors who may not be familiar with industry terminology
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Extensive knowledge base of automotive industry and parts
